Hello, I'm John Martin — the photographer behind Sapphire Coast Photography.
My parents retired to the Sapphire Coast in the early 1980s, so this coastline has always felt like home. Seven years into calling Merimbula my own, I still find something new to photograph almost every day.
My journey started young, when I won a photo competition and took home a brand new camera as the prize. That spark never faded. After formal training at RMIT in my mid-20s, learning became a lifelong habit — courses, deep-dives, and simply getting out and shooting.
Today I work across landscapes, commercial and real estate photography, portraiture, events, and videography. I'm also an accredited CASA commercial drone operator (ARN: 1092457), capturing the coast from perspectives that still take my breath away.
Beyond my photography services, I've built a range of products — wall art, panoramic prints, beach towels, jigsaws, coasters, placemats and more — so you can bring a piece of this coastline home.
